Five Ways to Color Together as a Family

Simple, low-effort ways to gather everyone around the same table — from Sunday afternoons to long car rides and quiet evenings before bed.

Family time does not need a plan, a budget, or a free weekend. It mostly needs a reason to sit in the same place for half an hour. Coloring is a very good reason.

1. One page, many hands

Print one larger page and give everyone a corner of it. Children love seeing their part of a picture that a grown-up also worked on, and nobody has to finish anything alone.

2. Sunday afternoon story pages

Color the Bible story you heard that morning. Ask the youngest to retell it while the older ones color. You will be surprised what they remember.

3. A page for someone else

Choose a neighbour, a grandparent, or someone unwell, and color a page as a gift. Write the verse on the back with a short note. Giving a page away teaches more than keeping one.

4. The travel folder

Print a small stack before a trip and keep them in a folder with a pencil case. Quiet hands in the back seat are a gift to everybody.

5. The bedtime page

Ten minutes of coloring before lights out, with the verse read aloud at the end, makes a calm ending to a loud day. No screens, no rush, just a little color and a blessing.
