Scripture on Every Page, and Why It Matters
A verse beside a picture is not decoration. It is repetition, and repetition is how words are learned by heart.
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
Children learn words by meeting them again and again in a setting they enjoy. A verse printed beside a picture they are about to spend twenty minutes with gets met a great many times.
Say it at the start and the end
Read the verse aloud before the coloring begins, and once more when the page is finished. Two readings, twenty minutes apart, with the picture in between — that is memorisation without a single drill.
Let the picture carry the meaning
A verse about light next to a lighthouse, a verse about kindness next to a shared lunch. The picture explains the words to a child far better than a definition does.
Keep the finished pages
A folder of finished pages is a record of the verses a child has lived with. Turning back through it months later is its own quiet lesson.
